Into the Wild

by Tiegan

When my partner and I decided to escape to the Lake District, we were both excited for the views. We'd heard so much about the beauty of the fells, and Coniston Old Man was our first challenge. The climb was steep, but the view from the top, with Coniston Water shimmering below, made every step worth it. Sitting there together, the wind in our hair, I felt a sense of peace that only nature can bring.

Next, we tackled Crinkle Crags, and I’ll admit, it was tougher than I expected. The rugged peaks and rocky paths tested our endurance, but the thrill of reaching each summit kept us going. The landscape was wild and untamed, just like something out of a fantasy novel. Standing on the highest crinkle, looking out over the endless fells, I felt so alive.

Our final adventure was Blencathra, a fell I’d always wanted to climb. Known as Saddleback, its unique shape is legendary among hikers. The ascent was challenging, but when we reached the top, the view took my breath away. The Lake District stretched out before us, a patchwork of lakes and hills under a wide, open sky.

Every step of our journey through Cumbria brought us closer to each other and to the wild beauty of this incredible place. I know we’ll be back to explore more, but for now, these moments are etched in my heart forever.
